Gilead went on his way
On his way went Gilead
At first he looked behind his shoulder,
 later stopped.
A burden of millennia
Was whiplashed to his back
For the justice meted to Jews
Is unlike the justice to the pack.
He is gone, the boy Gilead
Look at his countenance
Unblemished innocence
Turned sacrificial lamb.
Gilead is now asleep
In a radiant golden crib
I will sew wings to his body
To raise him from the pit
And wherever you shall be
