Growing Up I

Whose child are you?

I am a child of mother fall

Decaying

And father winter

Raging

My milk is the few drops of life

Squeezed

From shriveled trees and empty shells

I play with white flakes

Of loneliness

On cold grey grounds

Growing Up II

Whose child are you?

I am a child of the mountains

The wind shrieks me a lullaby

I lurk behind rocks in narrow paths

To rob the innocent

Of their smiles

Growing Up III

Whose child are you?

I am a single note

Played by a blind beggar´s fiddle

I am a rainbow

Life´s sunrays and raindrops

All pass through me

I am thin air

Growing Up IV

Whose child are you?

I am a child of life

The sun keeps me warm

I feed from the earth

And yearn for the sky

I am born with the day

My heart beats "tomorrow"

For maybe tomorrow

The frost will melt

Maybe then
